Sept. 9,1906, died June 15 in
Jamestown, following an illness of several
months. She was the daughter of
Fred N. Palmer, later of Fulton, and
Cora Miller Palmer who died in Ethel's
childhood.
She married William H. Matson, of Ira,
and they moved to Medina, N.Y. in
1928 where he was engaged as a teacher
for more than 40 years. He died in 1969.
Ethel, also, was a teacher there for
many years and retired in 1968.
She was a graduate of Oswego Normal
School and the State University of New
York at Brockport.
Mrs. Matson is survived by two sons,
William P., of Dunedin, Florida, and
Robert W. of Randolph; 11 grandchildren,
and 3 great-grandchildren.
A third son, John F., died in 1979. A
sister-in-law, Frances Palmer, resides
in Fulton.
Mrs. Matson was buried in
the family plot at White's
Cemetery, (Ira Union Cemetery).
