He came from Buckingham County, Virginia to Kentucky in 1848. In 1860 he
came to Arkansas and settled near what is now known as Havana. His wife
was Jane Ayres and her mother was a Sallie, of Ohio. They had eight
children, 6 sons and 2 daughters, all born in Virginia. The sons were Callie, Joel, John A, William Henry, Lucian and Ollie Sallie. The daughters were Mary Susan, and Bella.

When the family moved to Arkansas two sons, Callie and Joel remained in Kentucky. The other 4 sons and daughters came with the father.

In Kentucky, Callie Ferguson became a judge at Murry. He had 2 daughters Cadra and Laura.

Cadra married a Dr. Dunnaway they lived in Amarillo, Texas. They had 2 children and son and daughter, now living in the East. The daughter a teacher in a college. Cadra and her husband died in Amarillo, but are buried in Murray Kentucky.

Laura married Mr. Crisp and lived near Alma, Kentucky. She had three children- 2 boys, 1 daughter.

One son was a teacher and engaged in Boy Scout activities. The other son lived on the family farm near Alamo. The daughter Beatrice Hudson lives in Murray. She has a son and they are engaged in fertizer business.

JOEL FERGUSON lived near old Wadesboro. He was sheriff of Calloway County and was killed on duty. He had 2 sons and a daughter Belle by his first marriage. Sons went west early. Belle married a Mr. Carol and lived in Paducah, Kentucky, later going to Seattle, Washington, where she died. She left 2 sons and 2 daughters.
