A Mass of the Resurrection for Marie May Aragon, 72, of Vacaville, will be held at 10am Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vacaville. Father Michael McFadden will officiate. Interment will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Aragon died Feb. 18, 2005, in her home, surrounded by her loving family following a long illness.

Born May 1, 1932, in East Harlem, New York City, N.Y., she resided in Vacaville.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and a dear friend to many. Her life was totally her family. She had a profound love and commitment. They always came first before anything or anyone. She was gifted in many ways and could always take the worst experience or situation and make it a laughable, positive one, able to make good out of most anything.

From the age of 35, Marie was blind, however she had more vision than most and never ever allowed her handicap to prevent her from living and enjoying life to its fullest. She had a zest and a gift for being a beautifully dressed lady and had great pride in her appearance.

Marie was very committed to her Lord and her church. She was a very spiritual woman who lived her life accordingly. She had a love of classical music and loved singing.

Mrs. Aragon is survived by her husband of 52 years, Evaristo "Chico" of Vacaville; daughters, Anne Dennis (I.L."Bo") of Galt; Joella Aragon of Stockton; sons, Douglas Aragon (Jackie) of San Diego, Roberto Aragon (Stephanie) of Sacramento and Frederick Aragon of Vacaville; brothers, William Piervinanzi of New York City and Donald Piervinanzi of Georgia; grandchildren, Jakehima Mercier, Brandon and Natalie Dennis and Isabella Grace Aragon; nieces, Amand and Jessica Nogueras of Galt; and longtime best friend since kindergarten, Mary Vasallo of New York City, N.Y.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday in Nadeau Family Funeral Home. A Liturgy of the Rosary/Vigil will be held at 7pm Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the orthBay Cancer Center, 1860 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, 94533 or Sutter V.N.A. Hospice, 770 Mason St., Vacaville, 95688. Published in The Reporter on February 22, 2005
