Harry D. Harrell, 82, of Truxton, died March 23, 2000, at Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services for Mr. Harrell will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 26, at the McCoy and Blossom Funeral Home. The Rev. Marvin Braungardt will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Harrell was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Troy to Al Dean and Ida Cappel Harrell.

He was married to Alice Mae Yon on March 14, 1946. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Dennis Harrell of Hawk Point, David Harrell of Belleflower, and Bob Harrell of Truxton; two brothers, Shelby Harrell of Troy and Melvin Harrell of Moscow Mills; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harrell was a life-long farmer in Lincoln County and also worked as a school bus driver for the Troy R-III School District for more than 30 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Truxton.

He and his wife were founders of Lincoln County Sheltered Workshop. He was president of the board that worked for approval of Senate Bill 40.
