Death of Mrs. Sophia Gill
The aged mother of Drs. Gill died this morning about 9 o'clock at the residence of her son, 607 East State street. Deceased has been ill for the past seven weeks; she was at first attacked with malarial fever, and on account of her age was not able to recuperate.
Mrs. Gill whose maiden name was Sophia Healy, was born in Hartland, Windsor county, Vermont, July 7th 1803. In 1832 she was united to Charles Gill and always resided in that town until the home was sold. She then made her home with her son, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where she resided for nine years. In 1875 she came to this city and since then has resided here.
Deceased leaves four children, Drs. F.C. and H.C., and Mrs Judkins of this city, and Daniel O. of Springfield,Vt.
The funeral will be held at the house, 607 East State street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. M.E. Cady, of the Centennial M.E. Church, of which the deceased was a member, will officiate.
