Karen M. Barber, 62, of Willow Street, PA, formerly of Portland, OR, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday afternoon, May 14, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA of natural causes. Born in Roseburg, OR, she was the daughter of the late Hyle E. and Joyce E. Claypool Hughes. She was the wife of the late Mark A. Barber who died in 1997.

A homemaker, Karen attended Willow Street United Church of Christ. She enjoyed collecting angel figurines.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen A., wife of Bryan A. Kratchman, of Sherwood, OR, and Milissa A., wife of Chris W. Tankalavage, of Willow Street, PA, six grandchildren; a brother, Steven D., husband of Sharon J. Hughes, of Canby, OR; an uncle, Brent Claypool of Roseburg, OR; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debra L. Hughes.

Services will be private at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. There will be no viewing or visitation.
