MACKINAW, Ill. —



Stanley Bright, 88, formerly of Mackinaw passed away peacefully in Batesville, Miss., April 14, 2012.

Born Nov. 23, 1923, to Clarence and Mabel Bright in Mackinaw, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Tippett Bright.

Survivors include his three daughters, Sharon Bright of Amory, Miss., Maralee Stillions of Cleveland, Miss., and Starr Guest (Donny) of Oxford, Miss.; seven grandchildren, James (Lani) West, Stanley West, Sonja (Bradley) Stewart, Richard (Ginger) Stillions III, Amanda (Mark) Errante, Joshua (Heather) Guest, and Luke (Katie) Guest; seven great-grandchildren: Zachariah Stewart, Benjamin Stewart, Cooper Stillions, Shelby Stillions, Gracie Guest, Caleb Guest, and Karson Guest. Included in this family is a very special young lady he and his family include as a daughter, Marianella (Bobby) Reed of Walls, Miss.

Also surviving are one brother, Byron (Joan) Bright of Morton, Ill.; two nephews, Kim (Linda) Bright and Randy (Pam) Bright; and two step sisters; Treela (James) Darnall of Minier, Ill. and Carol Appenzeller of Boulder, Co. In Marjorie's family he leaves behind brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews who were all very dear to him.

He remarried and leaves behind a wife, Faye Wise Bright and three step children and their families, whom he loved greatly.

Stanley had a full life and loved the Lord. He flew in the USAF in WWII, was a flight instructor at Malden Airbase in Malden, Mo., and an aerial applicator in the United States and Central America. Stanley served as a missionary in Haiti and India, as pastor of Rome Christian Church in Rome, Miss., and on the board of Memphis Christian College in its beginning. He worked with Habitat for Humanity in his local area. He loved people.

He was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed.

Funeral services were at noon April 21, at Coleman Funeral Home, Oxford Miss. Brother Paul Middleton officiated. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sumner, Miss. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-South Christian College, P.O. Box 181056, Memphis, TN 38181.
