Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, in the Chester Chapel Free Will Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Stokes officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

Cathy Armstrong was born in Anniston and formerly lived in Montgomery and Prattville before moving to the Screamer community in Henry County in 2006. She was formerly employed as a secretary with Coates Optical in Montgomery, an optical business owned and operated by her late father, Harvey Lee "Pete" Coates. Cathy was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Surviving relatives include a son, Chance Lee Armstrong, Auburn; her mother, Martha Jenkins Coates, Abbeville; a sister, Renee' McNeill and husband, Mike McNeill, Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Tim Coates and wife, Faye Coates, Abbeville, Charlie Coates and wife, Sandy Coates, Abbeville; her stepmother, Nancy Belcher Coates, Abbeville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
