Obit., Dallas Morning News, May 31, 2005:

A devoted and loving man passed away in Dallas, May 28, 2005 due to many health problems, but mostly from a broken heart having lost his wife, Martha, who preceded him in death by only two months. Pete was born in Frackville, Pa on Jan 14, 1920 where lived during his early years with his parents and five brothers. He joined the Army during WWII and served his county in the European Theatre, involved in the "Battle of the Bulge, where he was decorated with three Bronze Stars and other ribbons for heroic duty under fire. As Mess Sergeant, he risked his live on numerous occasions to obtain special ingredients to prepare and serve fresh donuts, pancakes as well as ice cream to his troops on the front line. After his return from the war he bacame a valued employee of Cabell's Dairy until his retirement. Our loving Daddy and Papa will be so missed. Pete is survived by his daughter Robbie Hansen and her jusband, Joe Hansen, two grandchildren, Jerry Hansen and his wife Rachel of Plano TX and Lee Burkett and her husband Robbie of Corinth, TX, four great-grandchildren Taylor Nichole Handen, Brooke Olivia Hansen, Sterling James Burkett and Weston Charles Burkett (Due June 3 2005), and one brother, Paul, the last brother of the Stoppi brothers in New York. Pete is also survived by nieces, nephews, sister in laws and many friends, and the loving staff from Treemond, and the caring staff of Samaritan Hospice. Pete was a kind, gentle, loving man devoted to his friends and family and will missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, at 12:00 P.M. at Laurel Land Funeral Chapel, 6000 R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX.
