Jewel Elizabeth Meador Bowles Fowler, 84, Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Dumas, Arkansas, departed this life in Conway May 28, 2005.

Jewel was born Sept. 13, 1920 in Dumas, Arkansas. She was a Methodist. She was a U.S. Postal Clerk and a book keeper for Tillar and Co. She also was past president Town and Country Garden Club, past president of Tillar PTA, treasurer/secretary Tillar Methodist Church for 15 years, past treasurer/recorder for City of Tillar, and past mayor of the city of Tillar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Meador and Ray Mullis Meador; 1st husband, Robert Duncan "Bunny" Bowles and 2nd husband, Aubrey "Puddin" Fowler.

Jewel is survived by three sons, Bob Bowles of Rogers, Arkansas, Pat Bowles of Conway, Arkansas and John Bowles of Yatesville, Georgia; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Tillar Cemetery, Rev. Buddy Ratliff officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the First United Methodist Church, Dumas, Arkansas. Arrangements were provided by Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home, Greenbrier and Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Arkansas, 870-382-4352.
