She was born on September 4, 1923 in East Smithfield, Pa., to the late Claude and Hazel Thomas Elsbree.
Hilda moved to the Palm Coast area after living in Miami, Fla., for over 30 years. She was active in her retirement community of Benton Village and the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church. She enjoyed swimming, traveling in her RV and listening to music.
Hilda was also a talented player of the piano, organ, and the ukulele.
She is preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Allen Barrett, and brothers Donald and Charles Elsbree.
Hilda is survived by her sister-in-law Elizabeth K. Elsbree of N. Canton, Ohio; nieces and nephews Charles Thomas Elsbree of Miami, Fla., Susan Elsbree Darnell of Dayton, Md., Sandra Elsbree Soni of N. Canton, Ohio, Sally Elsbree Gordon of Chester, N.J., and many close friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2 p.m., at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens, Pa., with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, Pa.
