Mr. Anderson was born June 3, 1952, in Chignik and graduated from East High School in Anchorage. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Laborers Union 341 until his retirement. Mr. Anderson was a member of Bethel Chapel in Mountain View. He enjoyed oil painting, fishing and wrestling. His family wrote: ''He was a devoted father and caring family man. He worked hard to make life good for his three daughters. He was always compassionate and generous, eager to share whatever he had with others. As a young man he was a hardworking commercial fisherman who loved the sea. Later he moved to Anchorage and joined the Laborers Union where he worked on several large projects including the new Alaska Native Medical Center complex. ''Gabe will be dearly missed by his three daughters. They loved him very much and are adjusting to life without their best friend and father.'' Mr. Anderson is survived by his mother, Polly Kalmakoff Anderson; sisters, Rose Diekelman, Kathy Garrett, and Florence Rodriguez; brothers, Daniel Anderson and Robert Anderson; and daughters, Tonya Anderson, Tia Anderso and Trena Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson; brother, Frank Anderson; and sister, Janet Anderson.
