Anthony Stephen Tate, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2013. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Thursday in Friendship Cemetery, Bellevue. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall St., Grapevine. A native of San Luis Obispo, Calif., he was born Nov. 22, 1943, to Leon and Ruth Chadwick Tate. Following high school he served in the U.S. Navy. Anthony was an auto mechanic with Ford dealerships in Bowie, Decatur, Burkburnett and Grapevine. He was a proud grandfather and a practical joker who loved fishing, hunting and life. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. Survivors: His wife, Evelyn; children, Michael Anthony Tate and wife, Becky, James Turner Jr. and wife, Ruby, Tammy Renee Tate; six grandchildren; brothers, B.J., Roland, Cary, Eugene and Byron Tate; and sisters, Brenda Shanklin, Candance Bryan, Nelda Stowe and Dana Reynolds.
