Karen D. Brock, 62, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. She was born May 29, 1950 in Detroit, MI and moved to Nashville, TN at an early age, then to Gulfport in 1976.
Karen retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 35 years. She was a member of Bel Aire Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 32 in Ocean Springs. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and cross stitching.
Karen wanted everyone to think she was so tough but inside she had the warmest and kindest heart anyone could have.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Brock; parents, James and Gloria Davis; and brother, Bobby Davis.
Survivors include her niece, Roxanne Davis of Torrance, CA; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Jo Ann Davis of Torrance, CA, Anita and Ivan McAllister of Ocean Springs, MS, Helen and Floyd Pierce of Long Beach, MS, Katherine and Clyde Strickland of Heber Springs, AR, and Johnny and Kathy Brock of Gulfport, MS; and many nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her "little girls" Sunshine and Freckles.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Memorial Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital for their care and compassion.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Wilbur Hall officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbeares will be Dennis Walton, James Fairley, Giles Lanasa, Timmy Lizana, Johnny Brock, and Donnie Garrigs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
