Joy was born into a large and loving family. She attended and graduated from high school in Terrell,Tx. Joy was a secretary and bookkeeper for a Van Horn auto dealership. She was a role model and friend to all. Her hobbies included collecting depression glassware. her kindness and friendship will be remembered forever. Although she had no children of her own, Her many nieces and nephews will long remember her as a loving aunt. She embraced her step daughter as her own and was a loving Grandmother to two step grandchildren. She left us all too soon from a sudden stroke and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two brothers and six sisters, C.F. Birdsong of Terrell,Tx, L.J. Birdsong, Los Angeles, Ca, Mrs. Perry Williamson (Dot) of Arlington, Tx, Mrs C.V. Rogers (Gracie) of Longview,Tx, Miss Ruby Birdsong and Mrs.Joe Greenwell, both of Terrell,Tx; Mrs Dallas Henning of Fargo, ND, step daughter Penny Johnson Herrington and friends too numerous to list.

joy's grave is unmarked and numerous attempts have been made to locate the plot. unfortunately many graves there were never recorded and records were not kept.
