Rodney Jay West was born on October 4, 1955 and at the age of 57 left us to be better on May 12, 2013. Rodney was a resident of Ocala, Florida. there will not be a funeral or any viewings. A "Celebration of his Life' will be in the near future and we keep all of you posted when dates are determined. Rodney (RJ) attended high school in Plains, Montana where he graduated in 1973. This is where his heart is and wishes to return. Rod was a lifetime member of The National Rifle Association. He worked many of jobs and met many of great people along his journey. He was self employed as a commercial door and hardware specialists before he was diagnosed with cancer. He enjoyed anything outdoors. He took pride in being a horseshoe playing champ! He loved riding his Harley and traveling the world. His experiences are far too many to name. He was a very well rounded family man that always enjoyed new adventures. Rodney J. West was preceded in death by his father Earl West. He was survived by his wife of 27 years Shelley M. West McDermott, his daughter dearest Heidi M. West (32), son Corey J. West (26), Ramona Baker (37) His grandchildren Martin McCurdy III (Stretch) and granddaughter Jaeliana McCurdy (Button). He was also survived by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Many many close friends that were also his family! A nice dude that had a liking for the olden days and animals. I will finish and more later.
