George Solomon Arnold, second son of Christina and John Arnold, was born in Knox County, OH, September 8, 1847, and departed this life at the home of his son, Joseph Arnold, of Auburn, IN, April 16,1914, aged 66 years, 7 months and 8 days.
While a small boy, with his parents moved to Nobel Co., IN after which they moved to a farm west of Leo, Allen Co. Residing there a few years and then again moved north of Spencerville, DeKalb Co. In 1869 he was united in marriage to Ellen Jenkins Milton, to which union were born seven children, five of whom with the wife have preceded him to the spirit world.
Of a genial, sunny disposition he made friends with all whom he came in contact, especially the little children. A faith in God that had no end that all would be well.
He leaves to mourn their loss a daughter, Mrs. Anna Rickett of St. Joe; a son, Joseph Arnold, of Auburn; two step children, Mrs. Ida Fisk and Mr. John Melton, of Waterloo; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Timmerman, east of Huntertown, the only one left of the family. These with the relatives and a host of friends.

George Arnold, who died at the home of his son, Joseph Arnold, at Auburn, early Thursday morning, was brought to this place Sunday morning for burial in the Riverside cemetery. Mr. Arnold was sixty-six years old; leaves a widow, one son, Joseph Arnold, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Rickett, also two step children, John Melton and Mrs. Ida Fisk, both of Waterloo. The following of the funeral party took dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arnold and daughter, Helen, of Auburn; Mrs. Ida Fisk and John Melton, of Waterloo; Mrs. Job Arnold and daughter, of Cedarville.
