On a bright sunny day on May 11, 2013, our husband, father, grandfather, and friend, took his last breath of air on Earth, surrounded by his family at the Huntsman Cancer Center. Born on June 24, 1947 in Cedar City Utah, Billie was the 6th child of Hollis and Lucia Blake.
As a child, Billie attended school in Cedar City through his sophomore year, then completed his education and graduated from Hurricane High School with the Class of '65. Wasting no time after graduation, Bill left the very next day for Fort Ord, California, where he completed military basic training. Bill honored his country for 6 years while in the National Guard, serving faithfully with the St. George 222nd.
On Jan 21st, 1967 in Las Vegas, Bill married Janet Loper, his little blond soul mate and lifelong constant
companion. The couple was blessed with 4 beautiful daughters, who were the pride and joy of their father. His daughters later blessed him with many grandchildren, which became his new source of pride. Bill could talk for hours about his girls and grandkids, and understandably never missed an opportunity to brag about them. Yeah buddy!
After learning the concrete trade in Las Vegas, Bill moved his family back to Cedar City in 1972, where he started B.L. Blake Concrete. Bill was the hardest working man we ever knew, and always gave 110% until the job was done. He had pride in everything he did, and no matter how big or small, that pride showed up in every job he took on. In 1996, he made it a family business, and incorporated Triple B Concrete with his two son-in-laws. With the business thriving due to the new family additions, Bill left the business in the hands of his 2 capable partners, and retired in 2003.
As hard as Bill worked, he loved to play too, and always spent his weekends with family and friends. Bill
enjoyed anything outdoors, from rodeo and horses, to fishing and camping with his family. He was gifted in any sport he tried, and played basketball and baseball in high school and beyond. Later in life, golf became his passion, and Bill made many lifelong friends out on the golf course. From Beaver Dam to Cedar City, and all the way to Hawaii, Bill never met a golf course he didn't like. With the skills learned over the years, Bill even became a member of the hole-in-one club not only once, but twice, in '95 and 2012. Git 'er done!

He is preceded in death by his parents Hollis and Lucia Blake, parents-in-law, Edward & Gertrude Loper, his brother Wesley Blake, brother-in-law Ernie Toms, son-in-law Brant Anderson, and grandchildren Brittney and Coy Barnson.
