Ethel Sharp, 88

LOCKPORT, Ky. - Ethel "Granny" Sharp, 88, of Lockport died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, 425 North Main St., New Castle, Ky. officiated by Bro. Shawn Golden, pastor of Drennon Christian Church. Burial was in the Franklinton Cemetery, Pleasureville, Ky.
Mrs. Sharp was born on March 9, 1920 to the late James William and Lacie Katherine (Clark) Holmes. She was a member of Drennon Christian Church.
Survivors include; two daughters, Betty (Ronnie) Eddins of Campbellsburg and Barbara (Bobby) Jones of Pleasureville; four sons, Glenn Sharp of New Castle, Allie (Shirley) Sharp, Jr., of LaGrange, Ky., Vernon (Carolyn) Sharp of Lockport, and Jerry (Betty) Sharp of Lockport; a daughter-in-law, LaVerne Sharp of Lockport, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Sharp, Sr.; a son, Jackie Sharp; two grand daughters, Susan Denise Sharp and Peggy Sue Lindsay; grandson, Gregory A. Sharp, Sr.; and great grandson, John Sharp.
Pallbearers were Glenn Sharp, Jr., Jack Sharp, Jr., Michael Sharp, Tim Sharp, Mark Eddins and Jerry Sharp, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Donna Riley, Janet Jackson, Anita Jo Mahoney, Todd Sharp, Steve Sharp, William Sharp, Randy Sharp and Sharon Braden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Drennon Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
