She was born in Murphysboro on August 16, 1946, the daughter of William Orville Carter and Lavena Kathryn (Cook) Carter Etherton.
She married Billie Don Walters in Nowata, Oklahoma on June 4, 1966.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dixie Brasher of Murphysboro; one step-daughter, Vickie Morton of Mississippi; two step-sons, Billie Don Walters, Jr., and Jim Walters, both of Murphysboro; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry Etherton of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two step-daughters and her parents.
