Doty – Bowlby (June 4, 1919)
Kellerton, June 2. – Mr. Vere V. Doty, of Beaconsfield, and Miss Eva B. Bowlby, of Kellerton, were united in marriage Monday, April 21 at 6 clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Huggins in Mount Ayr, Rev. Frank Bean of the Methodist church officiating. The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Doty of Beaconsfield and for the Mount Ayr State Bank until Match 1st, when he began farming. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Bowlby of this city. She attended the Kellerton school and graduated from the high school this year. She is a young lady who had many warm friends, who extend their congratulations and best wishes. The wedding was kept a secret until a few days ago when their friends were very much surprised by the announcement.
