Mr. Earl Welch
Graveside services for Mrs. Earl Welch, 79, of Algona, Iowa, former longtime Sioux City resident, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Willow Township Cemetery near Holly Springs, Iowa.
There will also be services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McCullough Funeral Home at Algona.
Mrs. Welch died Tuesday at an Algona nursing home.
Mrs. Welch, the former Faye Agnes Metcalf, was born July 9, 1897, at Holly Springs. She attended college at Flasher, N. D and taught school in that area before her marriage to Alva C. Whiteman May 3, 1919, at Flasher. Mr. Whiteman died on Jan. 19, 1957, in Sioux City.
She was married to Earl Welch April 4, 1958, in Sioux City. They lived here until moving to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1962. Mr. Welch died Aug. 24, 1971, in Fort Myers. Mrs. Welch moved to Algona three years ago.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Esther L. Matheny of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Arthur (Lois) Menneke of Algona and Mrs. Harlan (Beverly) Else of Iowa Falls, Iowa; a son, Ernest Whiteman of the state of Washington; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a brother, Warren Metcalf of San Francisco
