She attended school in the Summersville area and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield and taught several years in the Summersville Elementary schools.
She married Ralph W. Day in 1924 at Cabool. They had five children. They lived at Summersville until 1957, when they moved to Houston.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for 65 years, serving as District Deputy Grand Matron several years ago. She was a member of the Houston Study Club, Houston Garden Club, Summersville Priscilla Club, Summersville Extension Club and the Houston Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandchild.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean Guffey of Eldorado Springs; four sons, Ralph Day of Cypress, Calif., Harold Day of Midwest City, Okla., John Kent Day of Fayetteville, Ark., and Jack Day of Ellisville; one brother, Clive Meador of Kansas City; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery near Summersville.
