T.A. DONALDSON, 79, WELL KNOWN RESIDENT, SUMMONED BY DEATH

Thomas Alfred Donaldson died here Friday at the age of 79. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Macy's chapel.

Mr. Donaldson was born in De Kalb county, Ill., the son of Thomas and Nancy Donaldson. He came to Oregon in 1902, lived at Forest Grove about six months and then came to McMinnville where he operated the Jacobson ranch for many years. He had lived in McMinnville the past 18 years.

His wife, Addie Donaldson, died June 22, 1927. On March 19, 1935 he was married to Claretta LaFever, who survives.

He was a member of the Christian church, the Occidental lodge No. 30, Independent Order Odd Fellows Schaeffer Encampment No. 22, Friendship Rebekah No. 13 and had served as Noble Grand Chief Patriarch and District Deputy Grand Master.

Surviving him are Mrs. Donald Cauthorn, McMinnville; Mrs. Florence Bartholomew, Portland; Mrs. G.G. Hatcher, LaGrande; T.L. Donaldson, Grants Pass; and Mrs. K.D. Bertleson, Olympia, Wash. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial park.
