SPRINGFIELD - Arvilla I. Strawn, 91, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1921, in North Thumberland, N.H., the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Chesseman) Blodgett.

She graduated from high school in the Groveton/Lancaster area.

On Nov. 20, 1941, she married Vernal E. Strawn in Stratford, N.H. He died in 2003.

Mrs. Strawn was employed at Groveton Paper Mill and Vermont Research.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking.

Survivors include two children, Wayne Strawn of East Hampton, Conn., and Janet Lynds of Springfield; a sister, Clara Martineau of Gilford, N.H.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three siblings, Clarence Blodgett, Doris Hammond and Rena Willis.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, in Plain Cemetery in Perkinsville, with the Rev. George Keeler, pastor of North Springfield Baptist Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
