BELVIDERE - Branden Paul Ramey, 22, of Belvidere died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, while serving his country in Iraq. Branden was born Oct. 6, 1982, in Rockford, the son of Randy Duane Ramey and Pamela Kaye Lightner. He lived all of his life in Belvidere and graduated from Belvidere High School with the Class of 2001. Survivors include his parents, Randy and Sandy Ramey of Madera Ranchos, Calif., and Pamela and Eddie Trevino of Belvidere; fiancee, Stacey Lee of Cherry Valley; brothers, Nicholas Ramey of Madera Ranchos, and Bryce Trevino and Brent Trevino, both of Belvidere; sister, Melissa Ramey of Madera Ranchos; grandparents, Gordon and Betty Ramey of Loves Park, Paul and Joyce Lightner of Anchorage, Alaska, Richard and Janice Gritzmacher of Belvidere, Concepcion Trevino of Belvidere, Arnold and Diane Vance of Salem, Mo., and Kathleen and Cecil Herzing of Mountain Home, Ark.; and great-grandparents, Lela Unglesbee of Newton and Dorothy Fordsmand of California. Predeceased by grandparents, Arthur and Elizabeth Lightner, Donald Fordsmand and Gilbert Trevino; and uncle, Richard Trevino.

A memorial service was at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in Belvidere High School gymnasium, with visitation from 4:30 p.m. to service time; the Rev. Don Lyon, pastor of Faith Center, Rockford, will be officiating. Private interment in Belvidere Cemetery. Memorials to the Branden Ramey Memorial Scholarship in care of Blackhawk State Bank.
