John J. Steinhoff, 84, a longtime resident of Hornick, died Tuesday at an Onawa hospital. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Steinhoff was born February 18, 1869, at Woodsfield, O. He came to Iowa in 1881 and had resided in the Hornick community since.
Survivors are the widow, Maggie; a daughter, Mrs. Elma DeLorme of Aberdeen, Wash.; two brothers, Jake and Herman, both of Hornick; four sisters, Mrs. Yetta Cox of Onawa, Mrs. Alvina Eichhorn of Rodney, la., Mrs. Minnie King of Hornick and Mrs. Annie Clause of Smithland; seven grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Methodist church at Hornick. Burial will be in the Holly Springs cemetery under direction of the Winter funeral home.
