Frankie Gene Parker, age 73 of Portage, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. He was born on March 24, 1940, to Clint and Vemba (Needs) Parker. He is survived by his beloved wife Wilma (Geffs) Parker, three children, Debra (Joseph) Rothenberger of Valparaiso, David (Mitzi) Parker of Terre Haute, Ronald (Cecille) Parker of Portage; brother James (Cheryl) Parker of West York, IL; ten grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and faithful dog Penny.He was preceded in death by sisters; Nancy (John, survives) Montgomery, Janet (Vic, survives) Peo and beloved dog Zsa, Zsa. Frankie served in the US Navy, USS Yorktown near the end of the Korean War and at the beginning of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 260 and a member of Vale Church of Christ in Valparaiso IN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of services at noon at the funeral home.
