Mrs. Barber Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Eleanor Leonard Barber of this city died at 12:20 o'clock last night at the New Castle Convalescent Home following a long illness. She resided many years at the corner of Second and Mill streets and entered the home at New Castle shortly after Christmas.
Mrs. Barber, a life resident of Madison, was 89 years of age and was the wife of William A. Barber, a retired wholesale grocer, who is also presently at the New Castle home.
She had been quite active in the social and religious fields and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Current Events Club, Madison Music Club, Daughters of the Confederacy and Madison Christian Church. She served a number of year on the Indiana State Christian Women's Board of Missions.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barber is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth, who is the wife of Col. Charles Bernard Rynearson, Latham, N. Y.; also three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Christian Church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vail Memorial Thursday and Friday evenings.
