Graveside side services for Edna M. Carlson, 98, of Wakefield, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery of Wakefield. The Rev. Todd Britt will officiate. Mrs. Carlson died June 4, 2001 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise.
She was born September 12, 1902 at DeWitt, Neb., the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bergmeier) Damkroger. She attended Mount Pleasant School District No. 2. On Sept. 22, 1922, she married Clarence Machmer; he preceded her in death on March 10, 1966. On Nov. 8, 1970, she married Leonard Carlson; he preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1987.
She made her home in the Wakefield community all her life.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Faulkner of Abilene; two step-daughters Leona Woellhof of Clay Center and Naomi Leonard of Junction City; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren ; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, two step-sons and one grandson.
No visitation will be held.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery of Wakefield.
Memorials may be made to Wakefield United Methodist Church.
Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home of Clay Center is in charge of the arrangements.
