SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. — Mardell J. Strycker, 80, formerly of Wakarusa, Ind., died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at her daughter's residence in South Elgin, where she has resided the last 12 years.
She was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Wyatt, Ind., to Wilbert and Pearl (Pehlke) Anthony.
Mardell was a graduate of Madison Township High School.
She married Bill Strycker on Nov. 18, 1961. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1986.
Mardell lived in Wakarusa for more than 40 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Chris) Amrhein of South Elgin; a son, Steve (Jaynee) Strycker of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren A.J. Strycker and Jake and Jeremy Amhrein; sister Darlene Stiver of Elkhart; brother Donald Anthony of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, funeral service at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodland, or Special Olympics of Hamilton County, Ind.
