Jeanne Black

Jeanne P. Black, 78, of Paris died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her residence.

She was married on July 22, 1952, to Lyman Black, who survives.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons will officiate. Burial will be Memorial Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers are Joe Oliver, Joe Houston, Mitch Hobby, David Kneen, Steven Lexa, Will McNally and Brandon Redden and Scott Watson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 27, 1934, in Rochester, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bessie Brower Plumley.

In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters: Susan Kendall and Tammy (Mitch) Hobby, both of Paris, and Sharon (Scott) Watson of Murray; two sons: Benjamin E. (Susan) Black of Lancaster, Ky., and Lyman M. (Rita) Black Jr. of Franklin;

Two sisters: Ruth Lynn and Helen Pittman, both of Greer, S.C.; nine grandchildren: Alex Kneen, Mindy Brown, Rachel Lessing, Aubrey Black, Christina McNally, Steven Lexa, Carolyn Dalton and Nathan and Brett Watson; and four great-grandchildren: Daniel Noonan, Emma Brown and Rowan and Bastion Kneen.

She also was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Nordquist; and three brothers: Glen, Johnny and Wayne Plumley.
