Richard Singleton was the son of Ebenezer Singleton born about 1765 in South Carolina and died 1829 in Horry District, South Carolina and Ebenezer Singleton's, wife Mary E McIlroy Singleton born about 1775 and died after 1850 in Marengo County, Alabama. Richard Singleton's description on entering service for the War of 1812-- 20 years old, black hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall.
