MRS. VIOLA PEARL MORTON DEAD
Mrs. Viola Pearl Morton, who lived at 17 Mechanic, died at 8:10 o'clock this morning at Newman Memorial County hospital.
Mrs. Morton was born March 20, 1884, in Morgan Ga., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theo F. Crawford. She married R. L. Morton in Macon, Ga., May 28, 1928. The Mortons moved to Emporia in 1942.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two stepsons, Wendell W. Morton, 1013 Congress, and Richard L. Morton, Jr., of Americus; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Martha Dains, of Americus; and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Harris, of Crawfordsville, Fla., Mrs. Addie Wadsworth, of Cheehaw State Park, Alabama, Ga., and Mrs. Virginia Moore, Rising Star, Texas.

RITES FOR MRS. MORTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Pearl Morton, who lived at 17 Mechanic and who died Friday in Newman Memorial County hospital, were held Monday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue chapel. The Rev. LeRoy Hay, pastor of the First Christian church, conducted the services. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Gile sang, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Plummer.
Pallbearers were A. A. Bugbee, W. L. Drummond, Elmer J. Sill, George Speece, Tom White and Harold Smelser. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dains, Mrs. Bessie Zink, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Morton, Jr., and Claudine Ann Morton, of Americus; and Mrs. Virginia Moore, of Sipe Springs, Texas.
