Earl J. Cumptson, 59, of 1108 Fairfax Street, died Thursday night in Veterans Hospital, Clarksburg. He was born in Fairmont, Jan. 10, 1901, a son of the late Harrison E. and Capitola Nuzum Cumpston. He was a brickmason by trade, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 629. Mr. Cumpston is survived by his widow, Mrs. Yvonne White Cumpston, five children, including David and Patty, all at home; two brothers, Fay H. Cumpston of Pine Acres and George E. Cumpston of Franklin, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Scott, Westminster, Md., and Mrs. Mabel Barr of Fairmont. Friends may call at the Ford Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.
