Mrs. Robbie Leeper Stewart
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Robbie Leeper Stewart of Sandersville were held Wednesday, August 7, 1996, at 11 a.m. in the Old City Cemetery in Sandersville with the Rev. Dan McPherson officiating. Mrs. Stewart died Tuesday, August 6 in a local nursing care home.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Smithland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Mr. Robert Leeper and the late Mrs. David Cowper Leeper. The widow of Horace Stewart, she taught art in city schools in Oklahoma and Alabama. Retired, she had made her home in Sandersville for more than twenty years and was an active member of the community for most of that period.
She was a member of the Sandersville Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and active in other facets of the church. She was also an honorary member of the Library Committee at the Sandersville United Methodist Church, helping with many of their projects. She was a member of the Sorosis Club and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Michael E. Stewart of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Miss Andrea Stewart of Tulsa, Oklahoma and one sister, Mrs. Monterey Roughton of Sandersville.
Lang's Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
