Darlene Heaton
Darlene, the year and a half old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Heaton of Moccasin, Arizona died at Marysvale, Utah Christmas night, Tuesday, December 25th as the parents were rushing her to specialists in Salt Lake City to remove a pine nut shell which she had inhaled earlier in the evening, while eating pine nuts at her home in Moccasin.
She was brought first to Kanab to Dr. George Aiken who being unable to remove the shell advised the parents to take her to specialists in Salt Lake City.
They got as far as Marysvale when the little girl chocked to death.
Funeral services for the child were held at Moccasin Wednesday afternoon, December 26, after which the remains were taken to Saint George for burial.
Several relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Heaton from Kanab went to Moccasin to attend the services Wednesday, among whom were Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Heaton and President Woodruff Rust.
