Age 52. Interred September 11, 1910.

William married Aglaha "Gay" LaGesse Oct 15 1904 in Chicago Illinois. At the time of his death the family was living in Memphis and they appeared in the 1910 Census.
William Ray, age 51, married for 6 years, native of TN, occupation was "Soap House" City directories show that he was a representative of the J.S. Kirk Company of Chicago, maker's of soap.
Aglaha Ray, age 37, native of Indiana
William Edwin Ray, age 3, Illinois
Harriet Mary Ray, age 7 months, TN

At the time of William's death, Aglaha was pregnant with their third child. John J. Ray was born in 1911 in Illinois.

Because Aglaha's name is rather unique it is important to note that it gets mangled in period records. I've seen it as Agbaha, Aglala, Agabah, Agatha, Aglaja, Aglajah and so forth and so on. Her parents were Julien Lazers William LaGesse/LaZesse and Harriet Fortier/Fortin. Harriet was sometimes referred to as "Happy" so maybe Aglaha's nickname was "Gay" as that is the name listed in the marriage records!
