Guy M. (Buddy) Turner, 90, went to be with The Lord on March 31, 2013, in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 22, 1922 at McGehee, Arkansas and was the son of the late Joseph H. and Sue Morton Turner.

He graduated from McGehee High School in McGehee. Guy was a World War II veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne and the 224th Airborne Medical Company as a medic and glider pilot. He piloted the glider with the medical supplies that was dropped behind enemy lines, and his unit was involved in several epic battles including "The Battle of the Bulge" and "The Crossing of the Rhine." After the war, Guy moved to North Little Rock, and worked for the VA for about 30 years. In 1977, he and his wife, Mildred, both quit their jobs, moved to Heber Springs, and ran a bakery and restaurant known as "Mildred's Place." In 1997 they moved to Bee Branch and retired.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred F. Turner; and his sister, Martha Jo Turner Brown.

Guy had no children of his own but is survived by two nephews, Don A. and Stephen T. Brown; one niece, Kathy Brown Blades; and numerous great nephews, nieces, and in-laws.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Memorial Park, Hwy. 16, Fairfield Bay, AR.
