Mr. Womack had lived in Glynn County since October, 1997. He came here from Danville, Va. He was a retired chemist working in research with Dan River Industries. He graduated from Clemson University with a B. S. Degree in Chemistry. He was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church, and former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Churchin Danville. He was also a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus #6143 and was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army.

George Treacy Womack
George Treacy Womack, 72, died early today at his residence.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Tev. Wilfred Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in Beunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hobbs, Bev Blount, Dewitt Dixon, Tom Keefe, Donnie Hathaway and D. l. McKenzie.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Hospice of the Golden Isles, J. C. and Doris Griner, the Rev. and Mrs. James Woods, the Rev. Ken and Nancy Newmann.
Surviving are two brothers, Pat Womack and Tom Womack, both of Brunswick.
The family will receive visitors from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Sundar at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 p.m..The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Gilden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, 31525.
The Cheraw, S. C., native lived in Danville, Va., from 1949 to 1997 when he moved to Brunswick. He was a veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Danville, a charter member of Knights of Columbus, No. 6143 and past President of the Danville Sertoma Club. He was retired from Dan River Inc. research department and King of the Sea restaurant in Danville. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
