Paul Daniel Shoup
December 5, 1923 – March 11, 2009

Paul Shoup, 85, of Ingomar, passed away on March 11, 2009.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.

Paul was born on December 5, 1923, in Ingomar, MT., to John A. and Maude E. Shoup.

His family operated a ranch north of Ingomar, where he was raised and attended school.

After graduation he joined the Navy working on a tanker ship based in Los Angeles.

After discharge from the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Claire V. Shoup (deceased).

Paul moved to the family ranch with Claire in the 50's but failed to make a go of it, so they returned to Los Angeles, where Paul worked as a dispatcher for the County of Los Angeles until Claire passed away in 1974.

Paul moved to Montana and again tried his hand at ranching before returning again to Los Angeles.

Shortly after his marriage to Paris he returned to Montana and stayed.

He stayed for a while on the family ranch north of Ingomar; then he moved to Melstone prior to settling in Billings.

Paul especially enjoyed his music.
His mother was a music tutor and he had played in a band in his youth and enjoyed joining in with any impromptu group that was playing.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claire, his brothers, Robert and William and his sister, Barbara.

He was divorced from his second wife, Paris, and had no children.

Survivors include nieces and nephews from his brother, William: Linda Shoup of Renton, Dale Shoup of Edmonds, Roy Shoup of Mountlake Terrace, and Carl Shoup of Seattle, all in Washington, and Judy Shoup of Ketchikan, Alaska in addition to four grandnephews: David Shoup of Auburn, Philip Shoup of Seattle, both in Washington, Aaron Shoup in Florida and Dana Shoup in Kansas.

He may also be survived by his brother John and John's children, but details are unknown.
