Jimmy Wayne Tindall, Sr., died peacefully at his home in Schlater, at the age of 65, after a courageous battle with cancer. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be visitation on Sat., May 11, 2013, prior to a service in celebration of his life at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Glenn Seefeld will officiate. Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Chrismond Tindall; children, Jackie Corder (husband Kevin) of Bruce, MS, Jim Tindall,Jr. (wife Emily) of Grenada, MS, Christy May (husband Keith) of Grenada and Suzanne Barnette (husband Tommy) of Madison, MS; and five grandchildren, and a sister, Joyce Alldread and a half-brother, Mike Ramage. He was born the son of the late Jack Tindall and late Mavis Nokes Ramage.

He was an officer with the Greenwood Police Department for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Major. He served as Under-Sheriff of the Leflore County Sheriff's Department, and worked there for the past 25 years. His favorite activities were fishing, hunting and other outdoor hobbies. Tindall served as Past President, Vice President and Northern District Director of the MS Deputy Sheriff's Association. He was a member of the MS Law Enforcement Officers Assoc. He was also the 1985 Exchange Club Officer of the Year, a member of the MDCC Alumni Association, and the First United Methodist Church of Greenwood.

Mr. Tindall drew high praise and admiration from the law enforcement community of Greenwood and Leflore County including Sheriff Ricky Banks. He was involved in many aspects of law enforcement, very well known and respected in the community.

Pallbearers will be Michael Baldwin, Ricky Banks, Eddie Cates, Danny Henry, Bubba Nix, Everett Overstreet, Fred Randle, Danny Rollins, Ken Spencer, Scott Stewart, Travis Summers, and Gordon Ward. Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Henry Flautt, Sam Abraham, Sedric Adams, Bubba Buford, Kevin Evans, Trey Evans, David Fondren, Bubba Golden, Tom Hamby, Rob Joiner, Robert Joiner, Buddy Jones, Warren Jones, Frank Little, Robert Scates, Rick Smith, Noel Crook, Ashley Hines, John Walker, and all employees of the Leflore County Sheriff's Department.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church, Greenwood or the charity of choice.
