The funeral for Shirley Jane Bunch, 70, of Martinsville, who died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at her home, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Bassett Chapel, with Elder Terry Hairston officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born in Williamston, N.C., on May 13, 1939, and was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Esters; her stepfather, Thomas Esters; and her husband, Roosevelt Bunch.
She had worked for Bassett Furniture Co., Stanley Furniture Co. and DuPont.
Surviving are four daughters, Irene Elizabeth Bryant of Moore, Okla., Judy Boyd of Norfolk, Mary Carter of Bel Air, Md., and Sherry Lynn Bunch of Martinsville; three sons, Larry Darnell Esters of Richmond, James Stuart Esters of Charlotte, N.C., and Keith Clayton Bunch of Kernersville, N.C.; a sister, Mattie Evelyn Wells of Bassett; two brothers, James Savoy Esters of Bassett and Clayton Lee Esters of Peekskill, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
