Forsyth . . . Joe Bennon Chambers died Thursday, May 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at New Beginning Pentecostal Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Mark Goolsby will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Chambers, the son of the late Roscoe Robert Chambers and Clyde Horne Chambers was born May 21, 1940, in Glenwood, Georgia. His wife, Mary Jacquelyn Abernathy Chambers and his step-son, Bobby Roberts, preceded him in death. He was retired from the Monroe County Road Department and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Chambers was a member of New Beginning Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his grandchildren, sisters and brother.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to New Beginning Pentecostal Church, PO Box 272, Juliette, GA 31046.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
