Emmette E. Biscamp, 79, prominent businessman died at 7:20 a.m. December 12 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Biscamp was the executive sales director of Franklin Life Insurance Company; a Realtor and investment broker. A native of Newton County, Mr. Biscamp was the son of John K. Biscamp and Devorean Kelly Biscamp. His great grandfather was Lewis Richard Biscamp, an immigrant from Westphalia, Germany. Mr. Biscamp was also the great-great grandson of Col. G.S. Lewis who was prominent in the political life of the Republic of Texas.

Mr. Biscamp was the first insurance man in Jefferson County to become a life and qualifying member of the exclusive Million Dollar round Table, the highest honor in insurance. He maintained offices at 2360 Calder and 3815 Montrose Blvd. in Houston. Mr. Biscamp was chairman of the board of Biscamp Real Estate Gallery of Homes, also located at 2360 Calder. He was a member of the Calder Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah C. Biscamp of Beaumont; two sons, Roy G. Biscamp of Hurst, Texas and Godfrey W. Biscamp of Beaumont; two daughters, Marie Wackym of Beaumont and Charleston, South Carolina and Dolores Vernon of Baytown; two sons-in-law, Dr. Lonnie W. Vernon of Baytown and Col. Fred N. Wackym of Beaumont and South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Williams Biscamp of Hurst, Texas; one sister, Leona Biscamp of Orange; a sister-in-law, Cassie Biscamp of Mesquite, Texas; four grandsons, J. Bryan Lawson of Beaumont, Nick Wackym of Summerville, South Carolina, Emmette E. Biscamp II of Beaumont, Lewis W. Biscamp of Hurst, Texas; seven granddaughters, Susan Lawson Daniel of Moss Beach, California, Holly Vernon Wetmore of Banning, California, Paula Vernon of Baytown, Caryn Del Toro of Baytown, Mary Biscamp Tyson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Elaine Biscamp of Hurst, Texas and Emily Biscamp of Beaumont; two great grandsons, Jeffrey Bryan Lawson of Beaumont and Lawrence Del Toro of Baytown; four great granddaughters, Lisa Marie Brazil of Moss Beach, California, Mellisa Marie Lawson of Beaumont, Adrianne Del Toro of Baytown and Michelle Wetmore of Banning, California.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in L.M. Williams & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dudley Wilson pastor of Calder Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Bleakwood Cemetery near Kirbyville with the Rev. Don Dodge of Longview officiating.

Mr. Biscamp's favorite charity at this time of year was the Empty Stocking Fund. Persons wishing to make contributions to this fund or their favorite charity.
