Lucy M. Alvarez, 78, passed away at home, surrounded by her loved ones on May 3rd, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. Funeral mass will be held in her honor at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, May 10th, at 2pm. Viewing will be held at Yuma Mortuary from 5pm to 9pm, with a Rosary beginning at 7pm. Burial will take place on Saturday, at 10am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pall Bearers: Albert Garcia Jr., Tony Alvarez, Roger Alvarez, Raul Alvarez Jr., Anthony Lara, Alfred Lopez, Julian Duarte, Salvador Duran, Carol (Bibi) & Anthony Lopez. Honorary Pall Bearers: Albert Garcia, Raymond Alvarez, Frank Alvarez, Lisa Figueroa, Jeannette Simpson, Leah Garcia, Sarren Michael Garcia, Yvonne Martinez, Christina Bolon, Michelle Alvarez and Shannel Alvarez. Lucy was born in Yuma, AZ to Maria and Jesus Munoz on February 3rd, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, sons; Tommy and Raul Alvarez, grandson; Michael Garcia, and brothers; Julian and Ramon Munoz. Lucy is survived by her children; Albert Garcia (Vicki), Raymond Alvarez, Frank Alvarez, Valerie Alvarez, sister; Genevieve Jimenez, brother; Salvador Duran, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Overwhelming graciousness was felt by the unconditional love she provided as a mother to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They all inherited her strength and sense of humor. She gave selflessly every day of her life, always making the most of every moment. Nana, (Lady), may you rest peacefully in the arms of your sons, grandson, and our Nana Mommy.
