REHOBOTH–Sandra M. (Margullis) Sawyer, 67 years old, died unexpectedly in Roger Williams Hospital, Providence on Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012., following complications from surgery. Sandra was born in Medford, MA daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Donahue) Margullis. She was educated at Perry Normal School in Boston and was graduate of the University of Maine, Orono with a BS in education. While there she met and married her husband, Michael on August 24, 1968. She was a retired school teacher for the City of Taunton, having taught at Cohannet and Friedman School, retiring 18 years. She also taught in Old Town Maine and in Hopkinton, NH. It was while living in NH that her lifelong involvement with "4H" began which lasted in NH and Bristol County for over 35 years. She was on the Advisory Board of the Bristol County "4H". Sandra also enjoyed travelling to all but 5 states, travelling to international destinations, playing games, surfing the internet, having a good political argument and spending time with her family especially her two grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her step father, James Foster Hallett and a grandson, Jonathan Michael Sawyer. She has been a resident of Rehoboth since 1992 previously living in Taunton. Sandra is the wife of 43 years of Michael S. Sawyer, PhD; of Rehoboth and the mother of Jennifer Pohill and her husband Jereme of Parker, CO and Peter Sawyer and his wife Joy of Limington, ME. Sandra was the grandmother of Jillian and Constance Sawyer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday May 12, 2012 in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave,. (route 138 south) Taunton from 11AM to 1PM followed by a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 1PM. Interment in Limington Village Cemetery. Limington, ME on Monday at 12Noon.
