Donald Clark Bayles passed away April 15,2013 at home in Blanding with his children at his side.
Donald was born on December 30, 1926 in Blanding, UT to Clark Lyman Bayles and Pearl Bernice Adams.
He was the last surviving member of his family and the longest living at 86 years.
He came from a rich pioneer heritage. Some came across the plains with the Martin Willey Handcart Company and they were called to settle San Juan County with the Hole in the Rock Expedition.
Our Dad had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed going to the Temple in Monticello every Tuesday until his health prevented it. He taught his children and grandchildren by example.
Donald Bayles was veteran of World War II, serving in Italy.
Dad loved sports, especially BYU and the Utah Jazz.
He loved going to the Blue Mountain and tinkering around. He grew enormous tomato plants and we all ate from his garden.
But most of all, he loved being with his family. He was truly a "grampa".
He is preceded in death by his wife Ora Bayles, who died August 30, 2008, his parents, brother Grant and his sister Clarka Petersen.
He is survived by his children; Randee (Lillian), Alisa (Wendell) Rose, Clark (Jody) and Dara Whatcott. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who simply adored him, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
Funeral Services were held Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Blanding LDS South Chapel. Interment nd Military Honors were in the Blanding City Cemetery.
