George Clennon Bryant, 85, a former longtime resident of Oak Grove, expired Sunday morning in a Monroe hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday from the First Church of God in Bastrop with the Rev. Revere Cook officiating.
Interment was in the new Forest cemetery under the direction of Blackwell-Golden Funeral home.
A resident of Monroe for the past eight years, Mr. Bryant was operator of a cotton gin here for a number of years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Ulma Bryant, of West Monroe, Linda Bryant, of Bastrop, Leroy Bryant, of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Zella Meadows, Mendenhall, Miss., Mrs. R. E. Russell, of Monroe, Mrs. Ernest Lofton, of West Monroe, Mrs. Robert Alexandria, of Jackson, Miss.; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren
