October 19, 1932 - May 6, 2013
Norman Eugene Moon was born on October 19, 1932, at St. Lawrence, South Dakota to V.A. "Art" and Viola (Turner) Moon. He graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1950.

On June 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Wanelda Slunecka (of Miller, SD) at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. Following four years of military service, he began employment as an area cattle buyer for Armour and Co., in Huron, SD. In 1970, he began working for Iowa Beef Processors, in the same capacity. His work took the family to homes in Yankton, SD, Mason City, IA, Council Bluffs, IA, and to Cherokee in 1972. He retired in 1995.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He served as Grand Knight, State Deputy, and Faithful Navigator. He was a former member of the A.H.A. Board and served as chairman.

Norm truly enjoyed spending time with his family and was a faithful supporter of his grandchildren's sporting events and other activities over the years. He was a people person, who enjoyed coffee-ing and an occasional card game, playing golf, walking, watching college football and basketball, and earlier on, dancing was a favorite pastime.

On May 6, 2013, Norm passed away unexpectedly at his home at the age of 80.
